Girolamo da Treviso the Younger painted this Adoration of the Magi around 1520, depicting the visit of the three kings to the infant Christ. The subject allowed artists to display rich costumes and exotic details. The painting is in the Musei civici di Treviso. The 1520s were a decade of transition, marked by the deaths of Raphael and Leonardo, the shock of the Reformation, and the beginnings of Mannerist experimentation.
