Virgin and Child, with Saints Anthony Abbott, Mark, Severino, and Sebastian

Lorenzo d'Alessandro, active in the Marches region of central Italy, painted this sacra conversazione with Saints Anthony Abbott, Mark, Severino, and Sebastian around 1490. Working in San Severino Marche, Lorenzo served the numerous small churches of the region with altarpieces that blended local traditions with broader central Italian influences, particularly from Crivelli and the Umbrian school.
