Vision of the Bishop

The Master of the Von Groote Adoration, an anonymous painter identified by a characteristic work, created this composition around 1515. The work reflects the artistic conventions and devotional culture of the High Renaissance period, when religious painting served both public worship and private contemplation across Europe.
