George III (1738–1820)

George III from around 1772 by Johann Zoffany is one of several royal portraits the artist produced during his period of closest association with the British court. Zoffany enjoyed the particular favor of Queen Charlotte, who employed him to paint the royal family in a series of conversation pieces and formal portraits.
