Antoniazzo Romano was the leading painter of Rome in the late fifteenth century, serving the papal court and Roman churches with gentle, somewhat conservative devotional images. This Nativity with Sts Lawrence and Andrew was created around 1480 and is now held at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica.
